On Tuesday, July 1, 2008, Mr. Antonio Conte, President of the Association of European Touristic Press, presented the special European Reward for development of tourism to Mr. Dragan Milic, President of the Municipality of Veliko Gradiste.

The ceremony was held in the Assembly Building of the Municipality of Veliko Gradiste and attended by the most distinguished people from the Municipality who are the most deserving ones for touristic boom of the Silver Lake, as well as Mr. Miodrag Denic, Director of the Silver Lake Resort, the biggest investor into development of tourism in the Municipality of Veliko Gradiste.		  

     
 

 

This exceptional reward was presented for the 26th time in a row and every year it is earned by 30 individuals and municipalities throughout Europe. International commission made up of 30 members decides about the reward, and Veliko Gradiste is the only municipality in Serbia that received this prestigious reward.

After the ceremony, the meeting of Council of the MEFEST 08 Festival was held, which made a lot of decision concerning the Festival that will be held in Veliko Gradiste in period August 31st – September 5th, 2008.
